Step by step process to make Bread Rolls

Ingredients

  • Potato
  • Oil
  • Salt
  • Turmeric
  • Coriander
  • Curry leaves
  • Mustard seeds (Rai)
  • Green chili (Mirchi)
  • Water
  • Onion
  • Ginger paste
  • Asafoetida (Hing)
  • Coconut

Process

To make potato filling:

1. Heat oil in a pan.
2. Add mustard seeds and let it crackle.
3. Add asafoetida, chopped onion, green chilli, curry leaves, and ginger paste.
4. Sauté well until onion turns soft.
5. Add boiled potato and mix properly.
6. Add coconut, coriander, turmeric, and salt.
7. Mix everything nicely. Potato filling is ready.

To make bread rolls:

1. Take bread slices and cut the sides.
2. Dip bread lightly in water and press gently.
3. Place prepared potato filling in the center.
4. Shape it into a roll and seal using water.
5. Heat oil in a pan.
6. Shallow fry the rolls until golden and crispy.

Tip: Do not soak the bread slices for too long in water. Just dab and press gently so the bread stays soft but not soggy, this helps the rolls hold their shape and become crispy while frying
